Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

The University of Arkansas conducts a 10-week program to give research experience to undergraduates that have completed, at least, three semesters of course work and will not be enrolled in classes over the summer.  REU focuses on field, and lab based, research in areas such as water quality and urban spring ecology to sustainability and more. The projects are supervised by University of Arkansas faculty members and change from year to year based on work being conducted at the University of Arkansas.

This program is a collaborative effort between the University of Arkansas, The National Science Foundation (NSF), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). There are also special associations with Native American scientific and civic groups in neighboring Oklahoma.

The USDA side of the REU focuses on sustainability metrics for agriculture and is ideal for any engineering, or environmental science students.
